Bonjour Bonjour!

Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour mon premier article sur le domaine de la beauté. Le premier produit dont j’ai envie de vous parler est le Déodorant crème bio, de Soapwalla.

Pour être tout à fait honnête avec vous, je ne sais pas encore si je ferai des articles sur chacun des produits que j’achète et teste mais une chose est sûre, j’ai envie de vous écrire au sujet de ceux que je trouve géniaux.

Vous le découvrirez au fil des articles beauté, je cherche de plus en plus à m’éloigner des produits à la composition ultra chimique. Il y a environ six mois, moi qui étais très Cottage, Tahiti ou encore Dop, je me suis mise aux gels douche bio et j’en suis très contente. Je vous en parlerai plus en détails si cela vous intéresse.

Peu de temps après avoir commencé à utiliser mes gels douche bio, je me suis dit « changer d’habitude au niveau de la toilette c’est super mais quand même, il n’y a rien de plus chimique qu’un déodorant en fait ». Et franchement, c’est vrai.

En ce qui me concerne, même si je transpire pas mal, je ne cherche pas à lutter contre l’humidité, donc un anti-transpirant m’est inutile. En revanche, je cherche à sentir bon même lorsque je transpire, ou même ne rien sentir du tout.

En cosmétique bio, il est des ingrédients qui sont autorisés et qui sont un peu limite-limite dirons-nous. Du coup, j’étais vraiment à la recherche de la composition parfaite. Pour le coup, je pensais que trouver un déodorant comme ça serait chose aisée. Je ne sais pas ce qui m’a pris de penser ça parce-que Oh misère ce fut compliqué!

Et encore, je chouine je chouine mais je n’ai eu qu’une expérience non concluante avant de me tourner vers le déodorant crème Soapwalla. Déodorant que j’ai découvert, comme beaucoup d’autres choses, sur la blogosphère.

Je vous propose de vous présenter le produit en question avant de passer en revue chacune des caractéristiques de ce produit 🙂

Le packaging

Avant de commencer à me renseigner sur les déodorants bio, je n’aurais jamais pensé que ce type de produits existait sous forme de crème et donc en pot! Pour tout vous dire, même si c’est un peu déroutant d’appliquer une crème sur ses aisselles les premières fois, je m’y suis faite très rapidement et ça devient même agréable car j’ai vraiment la sensation de prendre soin de mes aisselles en l’appliquant, et pas seulement de mettre du déo.

Au-delà de cela, le format pot contenant un produit non liquide est juste top parce-que vous pouvez le glisser dans votre sac à main, poche, sac de sport, valise, ce que vous voulez!

La composition

Comme je vous le disais, il était essentiel pour moi de me tourner vers quelque chose de complètement bio, naturel et « clean ». Ici, c’est clairement un sans-faute. Voici la liste des ingrédients qui composent le déodorant crème de Soapwalla, prise sur le site Bazar Bio :

Huile de jojoba, huile de tournesol, huile de graines d’églantier, beurre de karité, argile, bicarbonate de sodium; glycerin, huiles essentielles de de lavande, de menthe poivrée, d’orange douce, d’arbre à thé et de bergamote.

Comme vous pouvez le voir, il est formulé sans alcool, sans sels d’aluminium, sans produits dérivés du pétrole. Il est aussi vegan, sans gluten et non testé sur les animaux. Quand je vous disais « clean »!

Petite mise en garde : si vous avez la peau très sensible, le fait que ce déodorant contienne du bicarbonate de soude pourrait vous irriter. Les premières semaines, j’en ré-appliquais en cours de journée, une fois, de peur de sentir mauvais et du coup, trop c’était trop(ico). Voyant cela, je n’ai plus rien appliqué sur mes aisselles pendant une semaine et quand j’ai recommencé à l’utiliser, je n’en appliquais que le matin et depuis, plus aucun souci.

La texture et l’application

La texture est celle d’une pâte un peu épaisse mais qui devient plus malléable à l’instant où elle entre en contact avec la peau. Vous allez rire mais cela ressemble assez à de la pâte à cookie car elle est très légèrement granuleuse dû à la présence de bicarbonate de soude :-D.

Pour l’appliquer, il suffit d’en prélever un petit-pois à même le pot et de le masser sous vos aisselles.

La senteur

Il sent assez fort la menthe poivrée et la bergamote. J’avoue que cela m’a un peu gênée lors des premières utilisations car j’ai un peu de mal avec la menthe poivrée, mais je m’y suis très rapidement habituée.

L’efficacité

Ce déodorant n’agit pas contre l’humidité. C’est ce qu’il promet mais étant donné que ce n’est pas ce que je cherche, pas de souci.

En revanche, en ce qui concerne son action sur les odeurs de transpiration, il est formidable! Il laisse une petite senteur d’huiles essentielles qui s’estompe au fil des heures et à la fin de la journée, on ne sent plus rien, mais en tous cas, on ne sent pas la transpiration non plus 🙂

Le rapport quantité-prix

16,90€ hors frais de port, je sais ce que vous allez me dire, c’est hyper cher et je suis totalement d’accord avec vous. En moyenne, un déodorant ou anti-transpirant « classique » est vendu dans les 5€ les 50ml en supermarché. J’ai entamé mon pot il y a deux mois et demis aujourd’hui et voyez vous-même ce qu’il reste. Je trouve cela plutôt pas mal comme durée et cela prouve que le produit est économique.

Mon avis global

C’est un produit onéreux, j’en conviens, mais au vu de sa composition, de son efficacité et du nombre d’applications que l’on en fait, j’en suis ravie et je ne peux que vous le recommander si vous aussi vous êtes sensible à ce que vous mettez sur vos aisselles 😉

I am writing today my very first beauty product review and it will be dedicated to the Deodorant Cream, by Soapwalla.

To be very honest with you, I do not know yet if I will do a post on every single product I buy and try out but I for sure want to share my thoughts with you on the ones that I find amazing.

You will see in my upcoming posts that I am trying more and more to stay away from the super chemically beauty products. About six months ago, I was still riding hard on the Cottage, Tahiti and Dop wagon but I have since then discovered organic shower gels and I love them. I will talk to you about them if you are interested.

Not so long after I started using organic shower gels,I thought that changing my habits in terms of body wash was great but I also realized that there is nothing more chemically than deodorant. And it is actually pretty true.

As far as I am concerned, even if I sweat a lot, I am not looking to go against sweat so an anti-perspirant is not what I am after. However, I want to smell good even when I sweat, or even not to smell anything at all.

There are some ingredients that are kind of controversial in the organic cosmetics so I was really on the hunt for a perfect ingredients list. Let me tell you this: I was far away from expecting that it would be that tough to find! I actually do not know why I thought that it would be easy…

I am moaning on this but I only had one disappointment before finding the Deodorant Cream, by Soapwalla so it could have been worst. By the way, I discovered the Soapwalla one while reading blogs about organic cosmetics 😉

Let me show you the product itself and then I will move on to the review 🙂

The packaging

Before I started looking for an organic deodorant, I would not even have imagined that this type of product existed in a cream format and especially in a pot! To tell you the truth, I was a bit puzzled when applying deodorant with my hands for the first few applications because I personally was not used to massaging anything else than shower gel and shaving cream under my armpits but I got used to it very quickly. I even feel like I am applying skincare now.

Beyond that, the pot format for a non-liquid product is absolutely amazing because you can carry it in your purse very easily, but also in your pocket, gym bag, piece of luggage, etc!

The ingredients list

Like I said above, it was essential for me moving on to a 100% organic product, but also natural and clean. Soapwalla did it. Here is the ingredients list, which I copied from Soapwalla’s website:

(*: certified organic, +: food-grade) Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba)*; Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil*; Rosehip Seed Oil*; Butyrospermun parkii (Shea) Butter; Corn Starch*+; Sodium Bicarbonate+; Kaolin Clay; Vegan Kosher Glycerin*+; a custom blend of essential oils, including: Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender)*; Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree)*; Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange); Mentha Piperita (Peppermint)*; Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergaptene-free Bergamot)*; Non-GMO Sunflower Lecithin*+; Non-GMO Vitamin E*+.

As you can tell from the list, the Deodorant Cream is made without any alcohol, aluminium, petroleum derivates. It is also vegan, gluten-free and cruelty-free. Have not I told you it is clean!

Side note: if you have a very sensitive skin, the fact that the Deodorant Cream contains sodium bicarbonate might irritate your skin. The first weeks of use, I would reapply it during the day because I was scared of smelling (so glamorous 😀 ) and it was too much for my skin. When I noticed that, I simply stopped applying anything to my armpits for a week an when I went back to using the Deodorant Cream I only applied it in the morning and never experienced any irritation anymore.

The texture and the way it applies

The Deodorant Cream has the texture of a fairly thick paste but it becomes softer to the touch when it gets in contact with the skin. You might laugh but it reminds me of cookie dough because it is a bit gritty due to sodium bicarbonate 😀

When I apply it, all I do is taking a pee-size quantity from the pot and then I massage it directly on my armpits.

The scent

Its scent is pretty strong. I definitely smell peppermint and bergamot. I admit that it bothered me a bit when I first applied it because I was used to floral scents and I am not a big fan of peppermint but I got used to it pretty quickly.

Is it efficient?

The Deodorant Cream does not act against humidity. The brand promises it does so but since it is not something that I am looking for I am not annoyed by the fact that it does not, on me at least.

That said, it is super duper efficient to fight against smell and this is amazing! It leaves a tiny scent of essential oils but it goes away after a few hours and at the end of the day it does not smell anything anymore. In any case, I do not smell bad and that is the most important 🙂

The quantity-price ratio

€16.90 to which you need to add shipping costs, I know what you are thinking: it is expensive and I totally agree with you. On average, a ‘classic’ deodorant or anti-perspirant is sold €5.00 for 50ml in grocery stores. That said, I have started using it 2 1/2 months ago today and you can see for yourself how much is left in the pot. I feel like it is not bad and this proves that a little goes a long way.

My overall thoughts

It is an expensive product, definitely, but looking at the ingredients list, the efficiency and the fact that I do not need to apply a lot per use, I am super happy with the Deodorant Cream and I can only recommend it to you if you are trying to be careful to what you are applying under your armpits 😉
